The Patch House

Project Team Li Han / Hu Yan / Zhang Xintong

Photography Zhu Yumeng

The Patch House uses inexpensive construction materials as "paint" and architectural walls as "canvases" to create large-scale "paintings." Inspired by a massive unfinished wall, the work transforms exposed concrete into a section of a multi-story house, depicting living spaces of Nanhai residents based on research into local home environments. Using materials like steel frames, insulation boards, and gypsum boards, the project reflects Nanhai's domestic landscape while celebrating the unfinished state of the wall, highlighting the beauty of construction and its underlying systems.
